A Magique Experience!

We're always amazed at how fast London Fashion Week goes, with so much preparation & nervous anticipation the week can flash before your eyes without a second to stop, breath and digest it all, and that's exactly how it felt for Loanne and I.

It was a week of running between show to show, outfit changes, DJ'ing, exciting presentations, networking and rushing around like headless chickens. Headless chickens aside, it was an epic few days and a certain few things that admittedly kept us going such as our stop over at L'Eden by Perrier-Jouët.

For those who are not yet familiar with it, L'Eden by Perrier-Jouët is an immersive lifestyle experience curated by prestigious champagne brand, Perrier-Jouët Located at 147 Wardour street, right in the hub of the city, (ideal!) The brand has created an immersive experience surrounding a new vision of nature and an unexpected contrast in the urban city of London. Sounds almost magical right?

Well we went to check it out on Thursday and loved it so much we came back to the space three times during LFW. On entering, there’s an awesome installation which includes a vertical system of 3-D printed elements suspended from the ceiling on a network of brass tubes which grow down from the ceiling, like branches of a tree. Suspended on these are the champagne glasses, which you can take off and serve champagne at your disposal! Fancy, hey?

Downstairs is where the magic happens. It’s the worlds first bio-responsive garden, an installation which mimics the movements of the visitors, complete with a hidden eden cellar. Really cool yet slightly trippy. Loanne and I spent a good fifteen minutes in here before our DJ gig, prancing around like whimsical witches and feeling like we were in Alice in Wonderland. I'd highly recommend this to anyone who fancies trying something new, fun, magical and immersive.

It was all topped off when we went for dinner with the Perrier-Jouët team on Monday, to learn more about the history of the champagnes and sample their exquisite menu, which was selected primarily to compliment the taste of three different champagnes.

For those of you who love art instillations and a obligatory glass of luxurious champagne, the space is open to the public from the 23rd-25th so make sure you check it out, it's nothing short of magique!!!

This month we're liking...

TACOOLA

There's nothing better than having brand, new bikinis for when the summer arrives, especially ones that compliment the figure! This month we've had our eye on Tacoola bikinis, an Australian brand who's range is nothing short of sexy, super comfy and figure flattering. None of those 'saggy bikini pants' malarky. These are sure to make your peach look perky! Check out their bikinis here.

STORETS
We're all loving the 'off the shoulder' vibe this summer and there's no brand that does it better than Storets cute, chic little tops, perfect for the sunny weather!

HOME DECO
When you're buying a new place, the most exciting part about it is doing it up! Me and Jord are finally making our big move into London town so doing up our new place and making sure its all kitted out nicely is top of our priorities! We've created some mood boards and collated some images to help us inspire the design our new apartment. Think Pastel colours, Modern, Scandi and Minimalist.

MUSIC
Summer is always the best time for great summer tunes and especially as we've got a few DJ gigs coming up, discovering new music is always key!
There's a few new artists we've discovered who we love and whose track we can't stop playing.
WHTKD (pronounced white kid) is one of them. A German producer and DJ. His deep house retakes on commercial tracks are sure to get the crowd going at any party! He's been on the scene since 2014 and most famous for his track "Say To Me", but check him out on Soundcloud and if he hasn't got you feeling like you want to party in less than 2 minutes, then maybe we've got it wrong!
The track we can't stop listening to right now is  Kakau - Live In The Moment  perfect for a chilled evening with friends sipping on cocktails and watching the sun go down! This is a must - hear!

Our Top 4 Summer Hangouts In London

I think we've all been feeling pretty let down by the British weather this year, but let's be honest, we know how temperamental it can be, and after all it would't be a British summer without a brolly in one hand and an ice-cream in the other. Well on a brighter note, we have high hopes for August and September and have collated a few of our fave London hot spots that you'll no doubt be finding us at this Summer (weather permitting of course!)

Pergola on the Roof

Pergola on the Roof certainly sits at the top of our list this year, it's West London's new rooftop dining experience, that is situated 170 ft. high under a canopy of beautiful flowers, that resembles the Mediterranean. It's a really chilled vibe and the food options are divine, think Patty & Bun, Lecoq and BBQ food galore. The drinks are relatively cheap, which is why we glugged down a few G&T's whilst soaking in the beautiful surroundings. This really is a great venue for friends as well as singletons who want to meet people. Those who are a little shy to approach people (which is the norm nowadays as we all hide behind our mobile phones.. Guilty!) Apps like Badoo allow you to see people nearby and connect through the app, so if you're single living in London and want to meet someone, head to Pergola, download Badoo and off you go! Pergola is only open until 29th August 2016 so make sure you experience it while it lasts!

Lyric Hammersmith

The Lyric Hammersmith is a modern theatre that boasts a delicious bar and exotic rooftop. We were lucky enough to be DJ'ing there this weekend for Planet Manna (a yoga-themed, fitness festival/ event) which by the way was amazing! The vibe is chilled and there are bean bags spotted around the venue which you can chill out on, have a glass of vino and take in the surroundings. The rooftop is covered by greenery which transcends you to an oasis deep within the amazon rainforest. (Okay a bit too much, but the venue is super cool!) Perfect for a chilled afternoon with good amigos!

Evans & Peel detective agency Speakeasy

Ever wanted to be a detective? Or immersed into a world of secret spies? Bored of your local hangout and mundane cocktail order? Then you have to try one of our new favourite bars. Evans and Peel! Tucked away in the streets of Earls court, this place is like no bar you've ever been too. You become immersed in to this world of spies, secrets and detectives and if you're us, even more immersed in to their delicious choice of cocktails! My personal favourite is the Margarita Lechera a soft, lightly spiced version of everyone's favourite classic BUT you also should try the First Date cocktail. A sweet and spicy take on a classic daquiri. Delish.

Up for a fun and different night? This is the place for you, and us for that matter!

 Bussey Building Rooftop Cinema

There’s nothing more romantic than watching a great movie beneath the stars on a warm summers evening. And we just happen to know the perfect place!
The rooftop film club at the Bussey building is located in the heart of Peckham Rye. It has stunning panoramic views of London's skyline and screens a selection of classics and new releases.
This is no doubt the perfect place for a first date, beautiful setting, romantic and fun and if you're feeling slightly nervous (which we all feel on a first date, come'on!), you can take the edge off by sipping on one of the renowned spirit mixers at the Rooftop bar. They serve delicious cocktails and liqueur desserts which is sure to ease you in to conversation.
An absolutely great way to spend a warm summers evening. Even if you're short of some company,  Badoo will allow you to connect with likeminded people, and what a great first date an open air cinema would be...I'm sure it wouldn't be just the film you'd be watching. Hehe.

DJ duuuuo

As we eagerly unwrapped our very own CDJ's from under the Christmas tree in December (Big thanks to the Madre!) We had a sneaky suspicion that this was going to be the start of something very exciting. Growing up on the stage, we've always had an urge to entertain and channel our creative energy in different ways, and music is one of them. Hanging around with a social crowd where many are already immersed in  the music scene and are DJs themselves, we thought it would be the perfect opportunity to learn!

Since receiving our decks (We got these little serato controllers)  we have been practising non stop and have been taught by Loie's boyfriend the one and only Josh Parkinson AKA (JDP) check out his tracks he's pretty special! Haha

Shortly after we had our first gig lined up and did our first set at a day party in Notting Hill called Babylon for the March bank holiday weekend. We were slightly nervous as it was our first ever gig but as soon as we started playing BOY did it feel good! Now we cannot wait for this Summer to play at more day parties/ roof tops!

Watch this space!

If you want to check out our mix from Babylon, you can listen to it here on Soundcloud

Miscellaneous Magic

I've been flicking through a random selection of shots taken over the past few months and utterly shocked at how quickly time flies! It feels like yesterday I was on a plane to Turkey or running around at Glastonbury in the 28 degree heat, yet here i am in the midst of September tucked in bed whilst the rain patters on my window pane not quite sure about what to make of time. It's suddenly hit me that time flashes before our eyes and before we know it we'll all be unknown to mankind...morbid huh? SO on that note guys i'm off to enjoy my life and eat CAKE..... until next time!
