The art of doing nothing

During my second week in Portugal I was finally getting into the swing of doing nothing and to top it off the weather was incredible!

This day was pretty much perfect, we went to the Penha Longa hotel, a quintessential retreat situated in the Sintra mountains for the afternoon where we chilled, swam and had wishful conversations of living abroad.

Portugal Adventures

My dear friend Natasha came out to visit me in my final week in Portugal which was so much fun! Our week consisted of endless cocktails, giggles, sunbathing, exploring mountains  and watching the epic portuguese sunsets. Any one who hasn't been to Portugal (and I'm not talking about the Algarve) has to visit either Sintra or Lisbon.... Or even better both! A great week with great company. x

Far from the madding crowd.

It's so nice being back home in Portugal and I've been so lucky with the weather this time around! Waking up to blue skies every morning has made my trip even more enjoyable!  I have a house in a place called Sintra, a small village outside of Lisbon that is situated amongst beautiful mountains with its own micro-climate. It is such a beautiful and peaceful village and a perfect place to relax and have some down-time. I don't really want to come home but hey-ho, let's hope London is as sunny and serene.... ;)

A Tuesday in Gilli

For the past month Loanne and I embarked on an adventure of a lifetime! Our travels commenced in the beautiful  depths of Phuket in Thailand. Thailand was a short visit over to see my dad who emigrated there six years ago (Not too shabby).  With the beautiful beaches, exquisite cuisine and tropical climate, our days were spent relaxing in the pool, sipping on fruity cocktails and eating local thai curries. After ten days we made our way over to the beautiful land of Bali where we travelled around for four weeks exploring hidden waterfalls, active volcanoes, beautiful wildlife, stunning scenery, extraordinary cultures, crazy parties, awesome surfers, epic company and incredible islands.

Three girls on the trip of a life time and it looked a bit like this...

The land of Tacos, Fiestas and Beautiful Beaches

This year, as tradition, I jetted off to see the New Year in, and this time it was off to the land of Mexicooooo!

Despite a few mishaps at the beginning of the trip, including a bad case of food poisoning (blaahh) it was a brilliant way to start off a new year- One sure to be full of adventures, challenges and changes.

Not only did we soak up the rays and beach it in the beautiful soils of Tulum (honestly one of the nicest places I've ever been!) But we also managed to take advantage of the night-life in Playa Del Carmen by blagging our way in to a variety of the BPM parties. With its international array of DJs, this festival was certainly not one to be missed! http://www.thebpmfestival.com/

Enjoy!

The BEST meal of the trip- In a small, very quirky, Italian ristorante on the beach. Heaven.

This was my last few hours on the beach = absolute serenity

Melbourne Livin'
201.jpg

Returning from the sunny, hot, buzzing, vibrant, lively Melbourne to the Freezing, snowy, grey clouds of London was a hell of a transformation, not only in terms of weather, but in terms of way of life, fashion, music, food and trends.

Being there for a month was brilliant, especially as we escaped a month of winter here and swapped it for a month of 40 degree heat, beaches, pool parties and warm nights drinking cocktails...

Melbourne is such a fab city, it's such a chilled out lifestyle which goes hand in hand with the quirky fashion that I would most liken to the town and lanes of good old Brighton. Melbourne is the 'cool' part of Australia, as the Melburnian's like to stress. Coffee shops lurking on every corner, buzzing streets of people, bars filled with live music, hippie/casual dressers and a mix and match of different cultures.

We took a few days to check out the vintage shops in the town and around Fitzroy street. We came across some really cool vintage shops, which seemed  pretty similar to those you'd find around London and we had fun trying on some funky items.

One great thing we discovered about Australia, was the 'Op shopping' which stands for 'Opportunity shopping'...basically shopping in charity shops, as we would call it!

We found some brilliant purchases for such cheap prices such as the burgundy top and white shirt that we are wearing in one of the pictures below, each for $1! Bargain? I THINK SO!

Overall, it was a brilliant trip! Great people, Amazing weather, Excellent night life, Fabulous food, Great fashion. 5* trip! The only reservation was the price! Was a tad too expensive  (But nothing a good old 'op shop' can't sort out!) Fairdinkum mateyyysss!!
